For three consecutive Tuesdays, metalsmith, Tressa Thompson, will guide you through planning and constructing a hollow form ring.
This workshop is for students that have metalsmithing experience. Students should be familiar with using the jeweler's saw and have basic soldering skills.
All supplies included: choose copper or sterling silver. Price varies due to material costs.
Dates: Feb 18, Feb 25, and March 4th
Students must be 18 years or older.
To use the studio you must:
- Sign a Liability Waiver
- Wear closed toed shoes
- Wear appropriate eye protection
- Wear splash goggles when using the soldering area
- Note: 1 pair is available in the studio at the soldering station. If you would like your own pair please bring them.
- Tie back long hair
- Secure loose clothing
- Follow all posted Studio rules
- Follow directions from instructor and/or studio monitors
We also highly suggest wearing natural fibers like cotton, hemp, etc. Synthetic fibers contain plastic that may melt onto your skin if they come into contact with heat!
Please note: We do NOT have bathrooms available for customer/student use. Please plan accordingly. Businesses that offer restrooms to customers (you must purchase something to use their restrooms) in the immediate area include: Madrone, and The Speakeasy in the evening and Madrone and Old Town Coffee and Chocolates during the day. The Eureka Visitor Center, near the gazebo, also has day time bathrooms available for your use (no purchase necessary).
