The Studio @ Phosphene
Are you a metalsmith looking for a jewelry studio space equipped with all the necessary tools and a supportive community? You are at the right place! The Studio @ Phosphene is a cooperative studio, school, and community for jewelry artists, students, and hobbyists. Whether you’re a seasoned jeweler or a student honing your craft, we would love to have you as part of our growing community.
Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays 5-9pm beginning November 20th.
Our bench rentals are on a first-come first-serve basis. The studio is stocked with various tools that are available to renters. Renters need to provide their on consumables materials (saw blades, sand paper, bits, etc.) and hand tools. We recommend checking out local and online resources like Talisman (local), Otto Frei, Rio Grande, Halstead, or Stuller for consumable materials and small tools.
Students and renters enjoy full access to our well-equipped jewelry studio, featuring 6 seats, 1 acetylene/air soldering station with ventilation, rolling mill, ring bender, buffing equipment, vibratory and rotary tumblers, hydraulic press, and more!
Studio users must be 18 and over and have previous jewelry studio experience in the form of a high school or college course, workshop at Phosphene, or the equivalent.
On your first visit we will provide a quick safety and tool refresher to make sure you are comfortable at the bench and soldering stations. Please allow 10-15min for this in your scheduling. Renters will also be required to sign a liability waiver.
