Handcrafted Shawl Sticks

It's all about the layers here on the north coast. Sunny skies can give way to coastal fog in what can seem like a matter of minutes so we are known to dress in layers. I must own at least 15 sweaters and nearly as many scarves and I'm pretty sure it's the same for about 90% of the population here, which has me wondering why I didn't create shawl sticks sooner.
When the North Coast Knittery, an incredibly charming yarn shop in Old Town, asked me to create a series of shawl sticks for their store I was excited to get to work. I let my imagination run wild and pulled from the themes of my existing work, botanicals, geometric forms, and a variety of textures to create a unique group of accessories in sterling silver, copper, and brass.

If you are in the Humboldt area you can drop into the Knittery at 407 2nd Street in Old Town Eureka to see the available selection or head to their website at the North Coast Knittery website.
