Beginning Sewing: Creative Mending Workshop | October 23rd, 2026 3-6pm

Learn how to use your sewing machine to creatively mend a hole in a garment. In this fun, beginning sewing class, you'll build confidence in threading, stitching, and operating your machine. We will explore some imaginative ways to use fabric scraps to patch a hole. This can give your garment a new life! 

Fabric scraps, thread, embellishments, and machine needles (if needed) will be provided.

Materials to bring: 

*Sewing machine: it's best to learn on your portable machine. Please let us know if you'd like to use an in class machine, when you register. 

*Scissors: fabric scissors and small, thread scissors(optional) are best

*Garment that needs a patch 

*Thread and fabric (optional): if there are specific materials you'd like to use, please bring them

Students must be 18 years or older. 

To use the studio you must:

• Sign a Liability Waiver
• Wear closed toed shoes
  
• Wear appropriate eye protection
• Wear splash goggles when using the soldering area 
  • Note: 1 pair is available in the studio at the soldering station. If you would like your own pair please bring them. 
• Tie back long hair 
• Secure loose clothing
• Follow all posted Studio rules
• Follow directions from instructor and/or studio monitors
