Learn the ins and outs of needle punch rug making with local artist Kelsey Owens.
This workshop covers creating a design (patterns will also be available), setting up your hoop, punching, and shaving.
Students may leave with a partially finished piece but will have the knowledge to finish them on their own. Or, stop in on Maker's Night (2nd Fridays - 5-8) to complete them and socialize with other makers for free.

- All supplies included during class: Embroidery Hoop, monks cloth, punch needle, clippers for shaving rug, glue, assorted yarn*
*If you would like to use a specific color of yarn, please bring it. Maker's Apron is just a couple of blocks away at 317 E St. and often has very affordable yarn.
To use the studio you must:
- Sign a Liability Waiver
- Wear closed toed shoes
- Wear appropriate eye protection
- Wear splash goggles when using the soldering area
- Note: 1 pair is available in the studio at the soldering station. If you would like your own pair please bring them.
- Tie back long hair
- Secure loose clothing
- Follow all posted Studio rules
- Follow directions from instructor and/or studio monitors
